HAINESVILLE, Maine — A 27-year-old Houlton man avoided serious injury after rolling his vehicle Friday afternoon on Route 2A near Hainesville.
According to Sgt. Jeffrey Clark of the Maine State Police, Aaron Leavitt was driving north on Route 2A in township TA R2 WELS at about 1:44 p.m. Friday when he reportedly saw another vehicle in his lane heading toward him. Leavitt jerked the wheel to the right and his tires went into the soft shoulder.
In his effort to regain control of his vehicle, a 2003 Honda sedan, he overcorrected and skidded across both travel lanes, rolling the vehicle into the southbound ditch. The vehicle came to a rest in the upright position.
Clark said Leavitt was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the crash. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Benn’s Towing Service.
