HOULTON, Maine — With just a little over three months to go, the planning committee has begun the work of putting together the events for the 20th Annual Moosestompers Weekend which will be held Feb. 5-7, 2016.
The committee has already met once and will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Houlton Town Office. In recognition of this being the 20th annual Moosestompers celebration, the committee is planning some special activities including having fireworks and bringing back some of the original Moosestompers contests such as Human Curling, Human Dog Sled Racing, Snow Shoe Races and more.Most of the usual favorites will also be returning.
Any group or individual that would like to be involved in putting together this fun community event is encouraged to attend the meeting on the 28th. Additional participants would be welcomed in light of the expanded slate of activities.
