BENEDICTA, Maine — Investigators with the state fire marshal’s office were called to Benedicta Sunday after a suspicious fire that morning destroyed a camper.
Senior Investigator Tim Lowell of the state fire marshal’s office said Monday that the fire burned a 1993 Conquest fifth wheel camper. No injuries were reported.
“We are investigating the circumstances behind this fire,” he said. “There was no electricity going to that camper, and it was closed up for the winter.”
Lowell said that the fire was discovered by a passer-by.
Information on the names of the owners was not immediately available.
The Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the investigation.
