SMYRNA MILLS – Doris E. Friel, 89, of Smyrna Mills died November 7, 2015 in Houlton. She was born April 21,1926 in Moro, the daughter of Leroy and Myrtle (Mitchell) Mitchell. Doris enjoyed her family and all animals, especially cats, dogs, and horses. She attended the Bethel Pentecost al Church of Oakfield. She is survived by one daughter, Anita Mitchell of Oakfield and one son, Michael and his wife Diane Friel of Augusta; two grandsons: Kevin Michael Friel of Avenel, NJ and Matthew Guy Friel of Manhattan, NY; a sister, June Bustard; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Keith (Tubby) Friel and five sisters: Amy Botting, Verna Ellis, Zella Hersey, Faye Drew, and Pearl Boutilier. A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m., November 11 at the Smyrna Mills Cemetery with the Rev. Sterling Lawrence officiating.
