The Aroostook Mûsterds Running Club will hold its annual awards gathering on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015 at the Par and Grill Restaurant in Caribou.
This marks the 33rd consecutive year that area runners have been recognized by the club for Country Challenge Series accomplishments. The seven County Challenge races are held in Houlton (Katahdin Trust Snow Run), Presque Isle (UMPI Spring Runoff and the Maine Running Festival Half-Marathon), Fort Fairfield (Potato Blossom 5-Miler) and Caribou (S.W. Collins 5K, Mûsterd Mile, and the Caribou Labor Day 8K Road Race).
The evening will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. and will be followed by dinner ordered off the menu and presentation of awards.
The club tracks participation and race success in male and female age groups as well as overall categories. Participation awards are handed out to those having run five of the seven series races. Additionally, the Mûsterd Runner of the Year, as chosen by running peers within the club, will be recognized. Although the Runner of the Year is chosen from club membership, series and participation awards go to runners regardless of affiliation.
