ISLAND FALLS, Maine — The bowling action is heating up at the Birch Point Bowling Lanes as mens and womens league play continues.
The current season standings for the men’s league is: 1, Strike Force, 46-10; 2, Intimidators, 34-22; 3, Gutterballs, 32-24; 4, Rough Riders, 32-24; and 5, Sandbaggers, 24-32.
The High Single belongs to Dan Barrows, 121; while the High Series features a tie between Jerry Violette and Keith Hersey, both with a 320. The Team Single and Team Series both belong to the Rough Riders at 522 and 1,485 respectively.
The top five averages are: 1, Joe Bishop, 109.2; 2, Jerry Violette, 103.8; 3, Mike Detour, 103.0; 4, Bob King, 101.2; and 5, Everett Boutilier, 101.0.
In women’s league action, the top six teams as of Dec. 8 were: 1, Twisted Sisters, 46-26; 2, Incredibowls, 44-28; 3, Golden Girls, 34-38; 4, Candlepin Mamas, 32-40; 5, Ball Busters, 31-41; and 6, WWB, 29-43.
The top six averages are: 1, Chris Lash, 99.2; 2, Dede Edkins, 97.8; 3, Donna Crandall, 94.5; 4, Sherry Porter, 92.5; 5, Patti Hartin, 90.5; 6, Beth Edkins, 89.7.
The Weekly High Single went to Lash, 116, while the Year to Date High Single is shared by Crandall and Joanie Sides, both with 126.
The Weekly High Threes award also belongs to Lash at 329, while the Year to Date High Threes belongs to D. Edkins, 332.
