Jersey ceremony cancelled at HHS
HOULTON, Maine — A ceremony, slated for Wednesday, Dec. 23, to retire a jersey from a Houlton High School alum has been cancelled. According to RSU 29 Superintendent Ellen Schneider, the ceremony to retire a jersey worn by 2015 graduate Kyle Bouchard has been cancelled to allow the school board time to come up with a policy to establish criteria for honoring any former student.
Junior Blackhawks win big
HOULTON — The Aroostook Autotech Junior Blackhawks Peewee hockey team, scored early and often Saturday morning at Millar Arena, beating the Woodstock Junior Slammers 10-1.
Curtis Reynolds led the Blackhawks with three goals. Alex Dunn, Josh McGillicuddy, and Dale Freier each scored two and Elijah Neureuther and Jed Gilpatrick finished up with one each. Jay Tuck and Maddie Marino had assists.
Strong defensive play from Natalie DeLucca, John Cumming, Mark Freier, Anton Mowrey, Caden Campbell, and Jeramiah Goff kept Woodstock on their heels and limited their scoring opportunities. Goalie Ciaran Johnson allowed only one goal.
