Oakfield Seniors

As the 23 members of Oakfield Senior Citizens met at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Clubhouse for their first meeting of the new year of 2016, it was a beautiful sunny Aroostook County day.

As usual the food table was filled with a variety of delicious salads, casseroles, rolls and cakes, cookies, puddings, cheese and a pickle tray. If that was not enough there was also a tray of candy goodies.

Earl Doughty asked the blessing on the food and the day.

Wannetta Townsend was the winner of the 50/50.

The business meeting was opened by President Bob Locke with the Lord’s Prayer followed by the Flag Salute.

Kathleen Boutilier, Ardyth Trecartin and Alton Burpee were recognized with January birthdays.

The treasurer and card reports were read and accepted. No secretary’s report was available.

Information about smoke detectors was made available.

Several humorous stories were read.

Attending were Marie Gillotti, David Burpee, Berniece Campbell, Thelma Flowers, Verna Boone, Arlene Friel, Juanita Wiggins, Bill Dill, Bob and Delores Locke, George Barrow, Wannetta Townsend, Iona Nadeau, Kathleen Boutilier, Ardyth and Ralph Trecartin, Sharon Anderson, Nacie Fowler, Donna Furrow, Lottie and Earl Doughty and Don and Charlotte Marley.

The next meeting will be Jan. 20. There will be an Agency on Aging representative with important information to share.
