HOULTON — Thomas Edward Jedrey, 65, passed away suddenly Jan. 21, 2016 at his home in Houlton. He was born Aug. 5, 1950 at Newburyport, Mass., the second child of the late Ralph and Shirley Jedrey.
Tom had many friends wherever he lived. He had a dry humor and was fun to be around. Tom loved hearing about the promise from the Bible of a time when all our loved ones will hear the voice of Jesus calling them from their memorial tombs and they will be made perfect. Tom said “Jehovah will give Tom a new brain.” He loved cars and could tell you the make and model of any one of them, from the earliest years. Tom also loved John Deere tractors. His dream was to have a three wheel motorcycle and a collection of John Wayne’s Winchester rifles. He was a soft spoken man who spent many happy hours at the animal shelter in Houlton. Tom was the happiest when he was around his family. He got to go to Florida on vacation to visit his nephew Shane and family, and many trips to Massachusetts to visit family. He loved his coffee! Tim Hortens was his favorite place to go. He was a great storyteller, especially stories of his childhood.
Tom is survived by his sister, Cheryl Driscoll and her husband, Ed, of Cary Plantation, ME, his brother, Peter Jedrey, and his wife, Phyllis, of Rochester, NH; two nephews, Shane Mowrey and his wife, Natalia, Thomas Mowrey and his wife, Cherrie; great nephew, Anton Mowrey, they were a very big part of his life; two nieces, Catherine and Christine Jedrey of Farmington, NH; cousin, Brenda Lacostic and her husband, Jim, of Cary Plantation; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents. He will surely be missed. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff and friends in Danforth and Houlton for his exceptional care.
Memorial service will be announced at a later date. Gifts may be made in Tom’s memory payable to the Houlton Animal Shelter; c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, 04730. Online condolences and guest book: dunnfuneral.com.
