LINNEUS – Byron “Barney” G. Foster, 75, died February 7, 2016 at his home. He was born September 16, 1940 in Presque Isle, the son of Murray & Louise (Coty) Foster.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He helped to start the Linneus Fire Department where he was the first Fire Chief.

He is survived by his companion, April Hallett, of Linneus; his sister, Gail Duff of Hodgdon; his brother, Dana Foster of Bridgewater as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Leonie; a brother, Allan and brother-in-law, Bob Duff.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m., Wed., Feb. 10 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St. in Houlton where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. with the Reverend David Tuttle officiating.
