HOULTON, Maine — UNE’s Center for Global Humanities announced speakers for the 2015-2016 year, its seventh year of programming. The center is a public forum designed to introduce students and members of the public to the exploration of the great issues facing humanity today.
Yaron Matras is professor of linguistics at the University of Manchester, and editor of the journal Romani Studies. His involvement with Romani issues began in the advocacy and civil rights arena. The Romani Gypsies is the assigned reading.
Cary Library will host the streamed lecture from 6-7 p.m. Monday February 29, 2016.
