HOULTON — Vaughn L. Gove 81, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 27, 1934 in Linneus, the son of Byron and Audrey (Hamm) Gove.
Vaughn graduated from Ricker Classical Institute, Class of 1952. He served in the US Army. Vaughn worked at the International dealership Hogan & Smith. When S.A.V.E. began, they asked Vaughn to come and teach transportation mechanics. He spent the next 22 years teaching mechanics to “his boys” and a few girls. After retiring in 1997, he went to work for Mike Fitzpatrick on the farm doing repairs.
Vaughn is survived by his wife Valerie, his daughter Jessica Gove-Healy and her husband Jesse; his father-in-law Hazen Gartley; sisters-in-law Ruth Gove and Lois Brewer; brother-in-law Henry Gartley and his wife Marion; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Laurel.
Friends may call Saturday, February 27, 2016 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Dunn Funeral Home. Spring interment with military honors will be announced at a later date.
