BANGOR, Maine — Houlton’s Taylor Reed competed in Central Maine Princess Pageant and was crowned Miss Central Maine Teen 2016 Sunday, Feb. 28 at the Bangor Banquet and Convention Center.

She was also awarded “Most Photogenic” as well as the “Super Model” award. The pageant is a preliminary to the Maine Academic Scholarship Pageant, which will be held in Saco on Aug. 19-20.

Winners of that pageant will go on to compete for titles in the USA National Miss system with opportunities to receive scholarship money for college. The competitors raised over $2,000.00 in donated money and items for the Ronald McDonald House.

Reed, along with the other pageant winners, will represent the Crown C.A.R.E.S, Creating A Respectful Environment in Schools and in our Society. It is a program designed to promote awareness of bullying in schools and to cultivate a safe environment while helping teach skills to develop social responsibility in school-age children, youth and teens.
