Mill Pond School hosts pie event

HODGDON, Maine β€” During Spirit Week at Mill Pond School, a week-long fundraiser was held to benefit Tyler Cox, a Hodgdon High School student injured in a snow sled accident.

Six willing teachers allowed their pictures to be attached to money collection bottles for the week to see who would be the lucky recipient of a pie in the face at a school-wide assembly. An anonymous donor paid extra to make sure there was a three-way tie!

The donor also put a challenge out to Principal Lorene Wiley that they would give an extra $25 if she would be willing to take a pie in the face.

The three-way tie went to Bronson Stinnett, Tom Vicaire (vice principal), and Kate Good. Wiley

graciously accepted her pie from her daughter, Mariah, commenting that, β€œIt’s all about doing something good for Tyler!”

Alyssa Estabrook was the lucky student chosen at random to throw a pie at our Student Council president Sabra Scott. Thanks to the generous donor, students, and staff, a total of $250 was raised.
