SMYRNA MILLS — Rita J. Burpee, 93, passed on to heaven peacefully Mar. 28, 2016 in Houlton. She was born August 21, 1922 in Smyrna, the daughter of Roy and Helen (Cassidy) Bragdon. Rita was happiest doing for others. She loved everyone.
She is survived by two daughters, Perlene Lane and Darlene Nelson; four sons, Perry and Virginia Burpee, Dennis and Virgie Burpee, Rick and Alison Burpee, Perley S. and Brenda Burpee, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one special great-great-grandson, Brady. The family would like to thank Dr. Abouleish and the staff at Madigan Estates Nursing Home for the loving care that they gave Mom.
