I notice that a lilac sky fades to a soft pink and that the sun begins to kiss the water, cascading its gentle image over the glasslike surface of the lake. I am home.
I find a path of self-reflection while I stare into the sunset. I see that the sky’s sunset show has begun by whispering dashes of color that dance throughout the clouds.
As short minutes go by, the sunset’s shades become deeper and more intense. I am giddy that there is more to show across the horizon.
Encouraged by the glorious sunset, I show my vibrancy as well. I can only hope that someday, amongst the world, I am a sunset, screaming and yearning to be seen. Every evening, I watch as the sun’s gorgeous views are displayed for the whole world to see.
