HOULTON, Maine — “Spring break up” is coming to an end for another year, and with it QLP will be wrapping up its series of classes at the Houlton Higher Education Center on Monday, May 23, 2016 from 6 to 9 p.m.
QLP is a Sustainable Forestry Initiative/SFI approved program that serves all of Aroostook County and assists the industry in meeting SFI standards of logger training and responsible use of our natural resources.
The May 23 session will include presentations on transportation safety, timber trespass, Maine Forest Service rules, and the basics of contracting for a timber harvest. These topics will be presented by professionals in each field and may be of interest to any forestland owner.
Those currently certified in QLP or CLP may earn continuing education credit by attending this session. There is no charge for this session, but registration is requested by calling Adult Education at the Houlton Higher Education Center at 521-3100 x5.
