The Vikings (1-7, 7.1429) are currently the 14th seed in Class D North. Since only the top 13 teams making the playoffs, East Grand/GHCA will need to string together a couple of more wins in its final six games of the season.
Hodgdon (7-2, 27.3626) is fourth in Class D North while Southern Aroostook (3-4, 17.4490) is eighth and Katahdin (1-7, 5.2041) is 16th.
Houlton (8-0, 51.8750 Heal Points) is in second place in the Class C North region. The Shires have had a quiet week as they have not played a game since Monday, May 9. Houlton is less than two points behind No. 1 George Stevens Academy (9-1, 53.4375).

Bangor Christian 13, Katahdin 10/Bangor Christian 15, Katahdin 3 — Playing a doubleheader at Stacyville Saturday, the visiting Patriots were victorious in both contests. Individual results were not reported.
East Grand/GHCA 7, Machias 5 — At Machias Friday, East Grand/GHCA picked up its first win on the season with an exciting victory. Thomas Gilman pitched a complete game, striking out six and allowing four earned runs.
Trevor Noyes and Cole Winslow both drove in runs, while Peter Apgar had a two-run double to lead the team offensively.
Woodland 7, Southern Aroostook 8 — At Dyer Brook Friday, freshman Steve Ratcliff singled home the winning run in the bottom of seventh for Southern Aroostook. Nate Lilley added two singles and two RBI’s while Josh Perrin, Cory Rockwell and Tyler Batchelder each doubled.
For Woodland, Alex Morrison had a single, a double and two RBI’s. Gavin Gardiner doubled in two runs and Windsor Brooks singled twice.
Washburn 15, East Grand/GHCA 3 — Playing in Houlton May 11, Washburn was victorious. Individual game results were not reported.
Katahdin 2, PVHS 9 –– At Howland May 11, Thomas Spencer singled, drove in a run and scored three times to help the Howlers beat the Cougars. Dakota Batchelder fashioned a five-hitter with 12 strikeouts and only one walk for Penobscot Valley (6-1).
Johnny Littlefield singled with an RBI and Grant doane singled and scored three times.
Rigaberto Otero singled twice to lead Katahdin. Starter Tyson Porter took the loss despite striking out eight in three innings.
Southern Aroostook 0, Fort Fairfield 10 — At Fort Fairfield Wednesday, Carter Bruce pitched a two-hit shutout for the Tigers. Dalton Cassidy had two singles and scored four runs to pace the offense. Jon Bernard had two doubles and Ryan Player had two singles. Josh Ricker hit an RBI-single to end the game in the fifth inning.
For Southern Aroostook, Tyler Batchelder and Steve Ratcliff each singled for the only two hits.
