The Oakfield Senior Citizens held their first meeting of June at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club on June 1.

Another bountiful potluck luncheon including delicious hot dogs and rolls was enjoyed on tables decorated with beautiful first of the season lilac blossoms. The 50/50 winner was Chris Johansen.

Locke opened the business meeting with the Lord’s Prayer followed the Flag Salute. All reports were read and accepted.

Chris Johansen from Monticello a candidate for House of Representatives for District 145 was guest speaker. He introduced himself by telling of his life as a veteran of the Marine Corps, a police officer in Millinocket and now being retired and living in Monticello. There are several issues going on in Maine that he would like to see changed, if you have any questions for Mr. Johansen call him at 538-2562.

Our next meeting will be a picnic if the weather allows, if not it will be at the Snowmobile Club. Diana Nadeau from the Agency on Aging will be the speaker at the next meeting.
