PORTLAND — The Breathe Easy Coalition and the Smoke-Free Housing Coalition of Maine are encouraging Mainers to take the smoke-free homes pledge during the first National Healthy Homes Month in June.
The event aims to educate families of potential health hazards in a home. Limiting exposure to secondhand cigarette smoke and thirdhand tobacco residue, particularly when children, pregnant women or those with a chronic illness are present, is one way to live in a healthier home. Maine residents can take the smoke-free home pledge online at http://breatheeasymaine.org/pledge/.
