HOULTON, Maine — Obtaining a college degree opens the door to many career options and opportunities.

According to the US Census, college graduates earn about twice as much as high school graduates. College graduates also have lower unemployment rates according to the U.S. Department of Labor. There are many ways to finance a degree, including scholarships and federal and state grants.

University College at Houlton has created a self-guided information page on their website that provides options and guidance for students who have never taken a college class before or for those who may have some college credits but are looking to finish their degree.

The website (learn.maine.edu/Houlton) includes information about meeting with an advisor and exploring degree and scholarship options. People are invited to read more by clicking on the “Register Now” information slide.
