The Oakfield Senior Citizens met at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club on July 6 for their first meeting in July. Everyone enjoyed a short visit with Peggy Sanders, who now is a resident of Florida.
After the potluck luncheon, Mr. Locke called the business meeting to order with the Lord’s Prayer and Flag Salute followed by the usual reports.
Delores Locke read a thank you from Judy Anderson regarding our help with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program recognition banquet in Presque Isle in May.
July birthdays were recognized. Wannetta Townsend told a cute dog story. Jeanne Clements was the 50/50 winner. Marie Gillotti read about her “git-up” being gone.
After much discussion members decided to meet July 20 at The Maine Slice in Island Falls at 11:30.
Attending were: Arlene Friel, Verna Boone, Marie Gillotti, Bob and Delores Locke, Jeanne Clements, Ellie Peck, Berniece Campbell, Don and Charlotte Marley, Mildred Gagnon, Wannetta Townsend, Lottie and Earl Doughty, George Barrow and Peggy Sanders.
All senior citizens are invited to join us the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club in Oakfield for a potluck luncheon at 11:30 with business and entertainment to follow.
