The course is in great shape right now and our greens are awesome! If you haven’t been to VaJoWa recently you should definitely make the trip.

Don’t forget to pre-register for our 51st anniversary 18-hole Field Day on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 10 a.m. This event is an individual stroke play event using 100 percent of player’s handicap. Cash prizes are awarded for both Net and Gross winners in four divisions: Mens A, B, C and Womens.

The cost for golf and dinner is only $20 per member or $30 for non-member (cart not included). After the round, enjoy the outdoor chicken barbecue with baked potato, coleslaw, rolls and gingerbread! Please call or sign up at the Pro Shop by Wednesday, July 27.

Results of the Pairs and Spares Mixed 2 Ball Scramble were: 1, Sara Douglas, Brent Kelley, Tom Ryan and Betty Smallwood, 81; 2, Peter Blood, Candy Kelley, Terri Pettingill and Steve Merry, 82; 3, Carol Blood, Greg Gayne, Bev Osborn and Ralph Powers, 83 (determined by handicap holes).

Closest to the Pin for men were: No. 4 hole, Ralph Powers and No. 7 hole, Steve Merry.

Pairs and Spares golfers meet on Sundays at 3 p.m. There is a $2.50 entry fee per person. Come join us!

The last day for Junior Golf is Aug. 2. Kids can still participate the next two Tuesdays. The times are 9 a.m. for Grades 1-5 and 9:45 a.m. for grades 6-12. There is no fee for this clinic. Moonlight golf will be Friday, Aug. 5 starting at 9 p.m. The cost is $25 per person, this includes cart, glow ball and prizes. Sign up your foursome early since the field is limited.
