HOULTON — Charlotte (Moir) Currie, 98, died on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Madigan Estates. Born January 2, 1918 in Houlton, she was the daughter of James C. and Gertrude (Beals) Moir.

She graduated from Houlton High School and attended Ricker Junior College. She was a longtime member of the Houlton Methodist Church, the Ebbett Circle and the Houlton Garden Club. Charlotte was a Girl Scout leader and a member of the Girl Scout council. Charlotte was skilled at knitting and sewing and made many dresses and costumes for her daughters. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, square dancing and traveling.

She leaves behind two daughters, Norma Goel of Coatesville, PA, Carol Schultz of Oldsmar, FL, three grandchildren, Alok Goel, Nandita Goel, and Neha Stowe and two great grandchildren, William Stowe and Maya Goel. She was predeceased by her husband Clayton (Chick) Currie, sister Doris Cullen, two brothers Melbourne Moir, Britton Moir and three half sisters, Gertrude Bither Stinson, Beatrice Powers and Kathleen Mooers.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, July 30, 2016 10 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Houlton Methodist Church or a charity of one’s choice in c/o Dunn Funeral Home 11 Park St., Houlton, ME 04730. Condolences and online guest book:dunnfuneral.com
