6-8 p.m. — “Honkytonk Heroes” band/family event at Island Falls Municipal Building. Donations accepted.
9 p.m. (approximately) — Fireworks at VaJoWa Golf Course. Rain date: Saturday, July 30.
9:30 p.m. — DJ dance at The Maine Slice; $3 per person. ID required; for ages 21 and up.

8 a.m. — Second annual Team Berry Sister MS Walk at Island Falls VFW. Register at 8 a.m., walk starts at 9 a.m. 4K walk/5k run. Proceeds to National MS Society. FMI: Contact Susan at 949-6968 or email susren1972@aol.com.
9 a.m.-12 p.m. — Trash ‘n Treasure Sale at the Whittier Congregational Church.
9 a.m. — Kayak/canoe race at Birch Point. Register by 9:45; $10 entry fee. Proceeds to SACS Dollars for Scholars.
9 a.m.-5 p.m. — Book sale at Green Valley Home (corner of David and Burleigh Sts.). Donations only. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics.
12:30-5:30 p.m. — Brooks’ Equipment sponsoring G-Force Laser Tag.
Free Family/Kids Fun Day at Island Falls Municipal Building. Bounce house, water slide, small kiddie pool, hot dogs and drinks. Donations to benefit Island Falls playground.
Sunday, July 31
10 a.m. — Duck race 50/50. Purchase ducks starting at 10 a.m. at River Cafe for $3 each. Ducks will be launched off bridge behind River Cafe at noon to free-fall into the great Mattawamkeag River, then float through the rapids. Get your duck before they are sold out. The first “lucky duck” to cross the finish line wins the 50/50. Sponsored by River Cafe; 50 percent will be donated to Island Falls Rec.
1:30 p.m. — Summerfest Pageant. Boys and girls categories, birth up to age 5; Little Miss, ages 6-8; Junior Miss; ages 9-11, and Miss, ages 12-14. FMI: 463-2263. Admission: adults $4, kids/students $2.
6:30 p.m. — Pet Show. In loving memory of Jarrica Rose Emery. Pre-register by calling 463-2263, or register at 5:45 before show. All animals welcome. Must be on leash at all times. Prizes awarded. Admission: adults $4, kids/students $2.
Monday, Aug. 1
6:30 p.m. — Celebrity dinner at River Cafe. Call Ruth to purchase tickets: $15 per person. All proceeds benefit the local playground. Wilderness Fun servers will wait on you.
Tuesday, Aug. 2
5:30 p.m. — GVA softball game vs. CLA of Houlton at ball field. Concessions available. Proceeds go to Special Olympics.
8 p.m. — Zumba party at Island Falls Municipal Building. All ages welcome. Donations accepted for Washington, D.C., trip.
Wednesday, Aug. 3
1-2 p.m. — Cookies and milk paint party at Fish and Game Club. For 8-year-olds and up. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults encouraged to paint. Supplies are included. Donations accepted. FMI: Call 463-2504.
6:30 p.m. — Island Falls Fire Department vs. Oakfield Fire Department, softball game at ball field. Concessions available. Following softball game: foul shooting contest in the gym, boy and girl categories, all ages. Trophies to be awarded. FMI: Call 463-2263.
Thursday, Aug. 4
6 p.m. — Kiddie Parade. Decorate your bikes, strollers, wagons, trikes, whatever. Prizes awarded for overall best entry, best themed decorations, and best imagination. Entry lineup at Historical Society Rd., ends at Island Falls Municipal Building.
7 p.m. — Grave’s Institute of Self Defense Open House at Island Falls Municipal Building.
Friday, Aug. 5
4:30 p.m. — Kelly Greene’s Candle Light at United Baptist Church, 64 Cleaves St. Public potluck dinner. Bring a non-perishable food item or a donation to benefit the Agape Food Pantry. Following dinner, three episodes of “Keeping Up Appearances,” appetizers and desserts by River Cafe. Fireworks at dusk. Public welcome.
9 p.m. — Moonlight golf. $20/members, $30/nonmembers. Includes golf cart and glow ball. Preregister by calling by 8:30pm: 463-2128.
Saturday, Aug. 6
7-10 a.m. — Masonic Lodge 206, all-you-can-eat breakfast, Library St. Adults $7, kids under 10, $4.
9 a.m. — St. Agnes Sodality food sale at Jerry’s Thriftway until gone.
8:45 a.m. 24th annual 5k run/4k walk and pie auction. Starts with kids run at 8:45. T-shirts given to first 100 people in pie run. Proceeds go to Island Falls Agape Food Pantry. $10 per person entry fee. To pre-register or FMI, piwhswcsw@gmail.com.
11 a.m.-7 p.m. — Meatheads takeout. Anyone dropping off a non-perishable item for the Agape Food Pantry will receive one free small homemade fry.
3 p.m. — Games for kids of all ages at the ball field. Adults welcome for skillet throw, soccer kick and softball toss. Prizes to be awarded.
5-9 p.m. Undertone performing at River Cafe. Followed by fireworks. Special menu to be announced.

10 a.m.-4 p.m. — Back on the Rack grand opening, Library St. Free hot dogs at noon until gone.

12 noon — Barbecue fundraiser at Municipal Building. All proceeds go to local playground.
1 p.m. — Parade,wilderness fun theme. Line up on Merriman Rd. at noon. Parade goes to Willis Lane/Emera area. Preregister by calling phil, 463-2518. First-, second- and third-place cash prizes for floats decorated with Summerfest theme. Decorate your bike, four-wheeler or walk with your favorite teddy bear, doll, or stuffed animal to be entered for prizes.
