ISLAND FALLS, Maine — Two people escaped serious injury Thursday when a vehicle rolled over on the northbound lane of Interstate 95 near Island Falls, state police said.
Daniel Ouellette, 49, of Frenchville apparently fell asleep at the wheel, according to a statement from state police, and lost control of his pick-up truck around 5:30 p.m. Ouellette and his passenger, Sheila Ouellette, 46, also of Frenchville, suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene, the report said.
The pair were traveling north, and both were wearing seat belts. The impact caused the pickup to come to rest upside down approximately 70 feet off the roadway, the statement said. Lt. Brian Harris and Trooper Gavin Endre responded to the incident.
Island Falls Fire and Ambulance assisted, but neither individual required transport to the hospital, police said.
