Willis Nason
HOULTON — A Hodgdon man who was indicted earlier in the month on a charge of possession of sexually explicit material of minors under the age of 12 was arrested Friday.
The indictment by the Aroostook County grand jury was sealed pending the arrest of Willis Nason, 47, who was taken into custody without incident shortly before 7:30 a.m. Friday by Maine State Police Trooper Nick Casavant, according to a news release issued by the state police.
The Aroostook County district attorney’s office successfully sought the indictment on Aug. 4, following an investigation by the Department of Homeland Security, according to the release.
Aroostook County District Attorney Todd Collins was not available Friday to discuss additional details about the indictment.
Officials from the Department of Homeland Security also were not immediately available to comment on specifics about why the agency was involved in the investigation.
Casavant was assisted in making the arrest by agents from the Department of Homeland Security.
Nason, who has since made bail, is scheduled to appear in Houlton district court on Sept. 6.
