Aroostook Research Farm invites public to field day

PRESQUE ISLE — The University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host a farm field day at 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at the Aroostook Research Farm in Presque Isle.

Participants will meet at the U.S. Agricultural Research Service office at 59 Houlton Road.

Field day topics will include grain trials, potato breeding and the variety trial program, and crop rotation for control of pink rot potato disease. UMaine Extension food system program administrator Richard Brzozowski will discuss the cooperative relationship at the farm.

The field day is free and open to the public.
