Hello, everyone. Glad to be on board today.
Bill Cogswell, Lavina Byron’s brother, returned to his apartment in New York after spending a vacation here. He was hospitalized in New York. We all wish Bill the best and hope he gets back on track and back to his place of abode.
I had a call from “Clearing House.” Most of you are acquainted with them and their advertisements. A man identified himself as a Mr. Anderson and asked a few questions. To get to the “nitty gritty,” he said I would have to pay $500 to receive $2.5 million. I notified the 800 number at Clearing House and they thanked me. It’s a scam, just as I suspected. I was informed they never notify their winners by phone. Don’t be caught!
Jean Cavanagh, 94, of Manchester, N.H., and her daughter, Kim Sowers of California, have returned to their homes after visiting Lois Downing. Jean is Lois’ sister and Kim is her niece. They had a wonderful weekend and it was great to see my sister again.
I am sorry to report deaths of two friends recently, Polly Warman and Elbridge Gagnon. Polly was a fun person and Elbridge was involved in church and civic activities. Both will be missed.
The Rite Aid representative will be here for Bingo on Tuesday, all over by the time this is written.
Beautiful weather again, and thank you, God. Lots of fresh vegetables around. Hope you all are partaking.
Dewey Dewitt’s son from California has been visiting his father. Nice to see Dewey in one of the recent Channel 8 spiels on their 60th anniversary.
The band concerts are over for this year. Still coming up are the American Folk Festival, Windsor Fair, Blue Hill Fair, Eastport Pirate Festival and the Farmington and Fryeburg fairs.
On angels: The smallest of heaven’s angels is more powerful than the largest earthly problem. (Think about it.)
Have a wonderful week, full of fun and joy.
