NEW LIMERICK — Hope “Hopie” Dwyer, 77, passed away Sunday, August 21, 2016 at her residence. She was born Feb. 28, 1939 in Houlton, the daughter of Harold and Harriett (O’Regan) Texido.
Hopie graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1957, shortly after married Gary Dwyer. Together they raised three sons and she supported him at home taking care of the family. Hopie loved shopping, her dogs and spending time at their camp at Grand Lake. She loved her hummer. Hopie was a tremendously caring person, always doing for others and putting them first. She loved her family.
Hopie is survived by her husband Gary of New Limerick; three sons William Dwyer and his wife Lou-Ann of Houlton, Douglas Dwyer and his wife Jennifer of Florida, Joseph Dwyer of Southamp-ton, NY; very special granddaughter Caitlin. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother William “Bill” Texido.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Saint Mary of the Visitation Church with Rev. David Raymond celebrant. A time of fellowship will be held immediately following the mass in the Parish Center. Private interment will be in the Saint Mary’s Cemetery.
