HOULTON — Carl Frederick Hutchinson, 74, passed away peacefully on Sept.3rd with his family by his side.
Carl was born in Chichester, England on January 15, 1942. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter, Darcie, and his parents, Claude and Phyllis Hutchinson.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, his daughter, Nicole J. Hutchinson and her husband, John Mitchell of Chapel Hill, NC; his son, Jasen C. Hutchinson of Jacksonville, FL; his sister, Patty, and her husband, Steve Hall, a longtime friend, from Athens, GA, and their children, Dianne, John and Patrick; his father-in- law, Al Jewell, brother in law, Buz and Linda Jewell of Monticello and their children, Jessica, Lisa and Lindsey.
Carl was a graduate of the University of Maine at Orono in 1964 with a degree in Agronomy. He farmed in Aroostook County for over 26 years, receiving the McCain Farmer of the Year Award in 1978. Together with Marie, he owned and operated the North Road Market and Heart to Heart Gift Shop.
A private graveside service was held with the immediate family on Tuesday, September 6 at Jewell’s Cemetery in Monticello.
