LITTLETON, Maine — The Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum needs to replace their heating system, which was installed in 1952 when the building opened as the Littleton Consolidated School. Funds are being raised through private donations and with matching funds from the United States Department of Rural Development.

The projected cost of the heating system is approximately $40,000. One donor has offered a $5,000 challenge and will match that sum if other donations reach that amount.

The museum will host a pork roast supper on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 to raise money for this project. The museum will be open for its last fall tour from 1-4 p.m. that day, followed by the supper. Serving begins at 4:30 p.m. with the final call ending at 6 p.m. The cost is $9 per person.

The museum board is anticipating installing the heating system before the winter season.
