MONTICELLO — Faye L. Cole, 100, passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016 at a local healthcare facility. She was born Jan. 12, 1916 in Monticello, the daughter of Roland and Kathleen (Carmichael) Codrey.
Faye grew up in Monticello and attended local schools. She married Perry Cole and together they raised two children. Faye loved to knit, crochet, working on puzzles and listening to music, especially gospel music. She could be found working in her vegetable and flower gardens and picking berries and apples. Faye was not afraid of hard work and always had a great attitude on life. Her family was very important to her.
Faye is survived by her two children, Ida Upton and her husband, Charles R. of Monticello, Morris Cole and his wife, Marilyn of Litchfield; four grandchildren, Kevin Upton and his wife, Debbie, Vernon Upton and his wife, Rachael all of Houlton, Duane Cole and his wife, Heeok of Florida, Charlotte Carr of Litchfield; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Upton of Houlton, April Bartman and her husband, Kyle of Canaan, Gregory Cole and his girlfriend, Vanessa of Littleton; two great-great-grandchildren, Lillith Cole and Mercedes Jacobsen, both of Littleton; four sisters, Geraldine Hoyt of Monticello, Madeline Faulkner of Centerville, NB, Caroline McNinch and Lillian Beldon, both of Monticello; three sisters-in-law, Elsie Codrey, of Easton, Doris Codrey and Dolores Codrey, both of Monticello; special friend, Marilyn Cole. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Perry; four brothers, Linton, Forest, Ronald and Ernest; two sisters, Pearl and Beatrice; great- grandson, Jeremiah Upton. The family would like to thank Dr. Sussman and the staff at Gardiner Health Care Facility for their loving care.
Friends called the Monticello Calvary Pentecostal Church 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016 until the time of the service 2 p.m. with Pastor Merritt Durost officiating.
