Houlton football falls to MCI

PITTSFIELD, Maine — Facing one of the elite teams in their division, the Houlton football team was overpowered by Maine Central Institute Friday evening, 61-19.

Austin Brown led the Shires rushing as he carried the ball 11 times for 36 yards. He also had one kick return for a touchdown. Seth Holston added seven yards on 12 carries. Noah Reynolds completed two-of-five pass attempts for 17 yards and a TD.

Deven Campbell sparked Houlton on both sides of the ball has he had one reception for 12 yards and a TD. Campbell also forced a fumble, which he recovered for a TD

Houlton will look to get back on track 7 p.m. Friday when the team hosts Mattanawcook Academy at the Houlton Band of Maliseets’ Athletic Complex.
