HOULTON — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to 252 calls for service during the weeks of Sept. 18-Oct. 2.
Sunday, September 18
– Tr. Pescitelli went to an address in Littleton to look for a male with a warrant. He located the male and placed him under arrest.
Trooper Pescitelli noticed that the male was trying to conceal something and upon a search, Trooper Pescitelli discovered that the male was in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, as well as 26 Xanax pills that he did not have a prescription for. The male was then charged for two counts of unlawful possession.
Monday, September 26
– Tr. Kilcollins and Tr. Bell stopped a vehicle for a defective headlight in Houlton. When the officers got up to the vehicle there was a strong odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. There were also two young children in the vehicle. It was found that a male subject in the backseat had a usable amount of marijuana and paraphernalia on him. The male was charged with possession of marijuana.
Tuesday, September 27
– Tr. Endre and Tr. Kilcollins conducted a probation search on a 17-year-old juvenile in Merrill. The juvenile’s room was searched resulting in the seizing of 26 pipes, bongs, and smoking apparatuses; as well as alcohol and marijuana. The contraband was seized and destroyed. The juvenile will be summonsed accordingly.
Friday, September 30
– Tr. Sucy is investigating a burglary in Oakfield. The homeowner is not living at the residence which is also for sale. It was reported that someone broke into the house and broke into a gun safe that was inside the house that contained approximately 50 OxyContin pills, and stole a new generator. Tr. Sucy is still investigating this incident.
Saturday, October 1
– Tr. Luce arrested a male for a probation violation at the request of the man’s probation officer. The man was not attending substance abuse counseling as mandated in his probation. The 26-year-old man, from Madawaska, met Tr. Luce at the Madawaska Police Department and was told about the violation. Tr. Luce transported him to Caribou PD where the man was held until the probation officer could respond.
Sunday, October 2
– Tr. Desrosier, Tr. Luce, and Cpl. Quint responded to an underage drinking party in a remote field in Fort Kent. Warden Gary Sibley was patrolling his area and noticed the glow from a fire and several vehicles in a field. Warden Sibley contacted Fort Kent PD and they requested assistance from the State Police. When the troopers and local officers arrived there were approximately 15 juveniles gathered around the fire and were consuming liquor. An investigation revealed the 39-year-old mother of two of the girls attending the party had provided all of the alcohol to the kids. The woman was issued a criminal summons for the violation after she admitted to purchasing the liquor. All of the parents for the minors were contacted. There was also a useable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the scene.
