HOULTON — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to 125 calls for service during the weeks of Oct. 3-10.
Monday, October 3
– Sgt. Clark stopped a vehicle for not displaying a front registration plate in Presque Isle. During his investigation he discovered the driver, a 34-year-old male from Easton, had illegally attached the rear registration plate and did not have insurance on the car. Sgt. Clark issued the man a criminal summons for attaching false plates and traffic summons for the insurance violation and towed the vehicle.
Wednesday, October 5
– Tr. Endre stopped a motor vehicle on I-95 Northbound in Ludlow for a traffic violation. The vehicle’s plates did not match the male who said he owned the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle explained that he was driving the vehicle on the previous owner’s plates and insurance. The male operator was summonsed criminally for failing to register a motor vehicle and a civil summons for failing to have vehicle insurance.
– Troopers Kilcollins and Bell took a complaint of a protection order violation in Monticello. The complainant had been granted a protection from abuse order the day before. The next day the complainant received an email from the respondent of the order. The suspect was interviewed and admitted to knowing about the protection order and admitted multiple times to sending the e-mail. The male subject was arrested and charged with violation of a protection order.
– Tr. Casavant conducted a bail check on a 20-year-old Westfield woman. The woman tested positive for scheduled drugs and was summonsed accordingly.
Friday, October 7
– Troopers Endre and Sucy assisted Cpl. Perkins with a domestic violence assault in Danforth. During the investigation Tr. Endre determined that another resident of the house had an active warrant. The 70-year-old male was arrested on the warrant from 2005 and transported to the Aroostook County Jail.
Saturday, October 8
– Tr. Endre responded to the Houlton Port of Entry where a 74-year-old male was attempting to cross in the United States. The male subject was wanted on a warrant from 1991. Tr. Endre arrested the male and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail.
– Sgt. Clark and Tr. Endre responded to a single-vehicle crash on U.S. Route 1 in Monticello. The vehicle went off of the roadway and into the woods. The vehicle sustained serious damage from the trees. The five occupants of the passenger car were all taken to the hospital for medical care. The operator has a suspended driving status and will be summonsed for operating after suspension.
