HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Police Department responded to the following incidents from Oct. 9-15.

 

Sunday, Oct. 9

9:31 a.m. — Off. McGuire responded to Weeks Street to investigate a reported harassment.

12:56 p.m. — Off. Bickford responded to North Street to arrest a 52-year-old Zealand, N.B., female, Patricia Yerxa, for theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

2:03 p.m. — Off. Bickford responded to Bangor Street to investigate a motor vehicle accident.

2:20 p.m. — Off. Bickford responded to North Street to investigate a theft/forgery/fraud.

5:06 p.m. — Off. McGuire responded to Sugarloaf Street to investigate a complaint.

7:09 p.m. — Sgt. Wampler responded to Four Seasons Circle to investigate a 911 hang-up.

9:44 p.m. — Sgt. Wampler responded to Hartford Street to investigate a complaint.

 

Monday, Oct. 10

8:01 a.m. — Off. York responded to Court Street to assist another agency.

9:50 a.m. — Off. Bickford responded to Customs Loop to summons a 55-year-old Boston male for possession of marijuana.

10:23 a.m. — Off. York responded to Park Street for an animal complaint.

10:33 a.m. — Off. York responded to Hogan Street to arrest a 36-year-old Houlton male, Christopher Cody, for domestic violence assault, refusing to submit to arrest or detention and violating condition of release.

10:50 a.m. — Off. Bickford responded to Elm Street for an ATV complaint.

8:03 p.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Military Street to arrest a 23-year-old Hammond male, Jesse Daeira, for violation of protective order.

9:36 p.m. — Off. Boutilier responded to Elm Street to investigate suspicious activity.

10:13 p.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Randall Ave to investigate suspicious activity.

11:03 p.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Market Square to investigate suspicious activity.

6:47 p.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Foxcroft Road to summons a 33-year-old Houlton male for operating while license suspended or revoked and operating an unregistered ATV.

8:15 p.m. — Off. Janakis responded to Industrial Drive to investigate a burglar alarm.

Parents: with Halloween right around the corner, please become familiar with these safety tips for trick-or-treating, courtesy of AAA.

* Trick-or-treat with friends or grown-up — never go alone.

* Don’t eat any treats until they are checked for tampering.

* Always cross the street at a corner and look left, right, and left again.

* Obey traffic signals and signs while crossing streets.

* If there is no sidewalk, walk on the left hand side of the road facing traffic.

* Never walk out from between parked cars.

* Lift your mask while walking from house to house.

* Don’t cut across yards and driveways.

* Only visit homes with lights on.

* Try to carry a flashlight and wear something reflective.

* If traveling in a car, please remember to buckle up.

* Adults and others celebrating should not be driving if they have been drinking, and should always designate a sober driver before heading out.

* Young children should always be accompanied by an adult.

* Remind children to pay attention to their surroundings.

* Remind children to walk, not run.

* Please be safe this Halloween and practice safety no matter what your age.
