Dorice P. Kerekes, 88, formerly of Kokomo died at 7:50 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at Savannah Court of St. Cloud, Florida, at an Assisted Living Facility. She was born on March 24, 1928 in Hodgdon, Maine, to Rue and Lena M. Thompson.  She graduated from Houlton High School on June 8, 1945 and married George M. Kerekes on October 27, 1956. He proceeded her in death on November 14, 1993.

She moved to Kokomo in 1962 upon George’s retirement from the U.S. Air Force where they raised their family.  The family were members of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  She worked in the Installment Loan Dept. at Key Bank.  Upon retirement she loved to sew, cook, and travel with friends.

Surviving are sons, Dennis R. and wife Tammy L. Kerekes of Hodgdon, Maine and Daniel A. Kerekes of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters, Barbara M. and husband Bret A. Smith of Kissimmee, Florida, and Carol A. and husband David McCormack of Lake City, Florida; nephew, Thomas and wife Barbara Brown of Monticello, Maine; grandchildren, Ashley Kerekes of Southwick, Massachusetts, Jessica and husband Joshua Harvey of Monticello, Maine, Joseph and wife Brittany Kerekes of Littleton, Maine, Brooke and husband Eric Stewart of St. Cloud, Florida, Beau Smith of Kissimmee, Florida, Staff Sergeant Jacob and wife Corena McCormack of Baltimore, Maryland, Davy McCormack of Lake City, Florida, and Jennifer and Adam Brown originally from Monticello, Maine; great-grandchildren, Garrett Jordan, Hunter, Gage, and Colton Harvey, Stryker Kerekes, and Nathan Stewart.

She is proceeded in death by her brother and sister-in- law, Robert and Helen Thompson, sister and brother-in-law Jean and George Brown, and sister and brother-in-law Polly and Mel Putnam.

Visitation were held at Eller’s Mortuary on 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana on Tuesday, October 18th from 4-8 p.m., and a Committal Service on Wednesday, October 19th, was held at Sunset Memory Gardens, Chapel of Peace, 2097 West Alto Road, Kokomo, Indiana, at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
