The Oakfield Senior Citizens met at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club for their last meeting of October. The luncheon of barbecue hot dogs by Chef David Burpee and the many casseroles, side dishes and desserts were enjoyed by all.
The business was called to order by President Bob Locke and all the usual reports were read and accepted.
David Burpee was this week’s winner of the 50/50.
Early plans were discussed for our Thanksgiving meeting in November. More info will be available at our next meeting.
Those celebrating October birthdays were Arlene Friel, Delores Locke and Iona Nadeau.
Members who came in costume for Halloween formed a parade, including Ellie Peck, Arlene Friel, Mildred Gagnon, Marie Gillotti, Lottie Doughty and Charlotte Marley. Marie and Charlotte were voted the winners of the contest.
The following members were in attendance: Marie Gillotti, Arlene Friel, Bob and Delores Locke, Thelma Flowers, Jeanne Clements, Ellie Peck, David Burpee, Don and Charlotte Marley, Millie Gagnon, Earl and Lottie Doughty and Berneice Campbell.
All seniors are invited to join us the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Smoki-Haulers Snowmobile Club in Oakfield for a potluck luncheon, a short business meeting and entertainment. Call Delores Locke for more information.
