HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Parks and Recreation Department will be offering its annual Halloween Fun Party on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 1-3 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building. Preschoolers through children in grade 5 are invited to attend.
There will be games, crafts and snacks for everyone. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the party. The cost is $5 per child. Parents must attend the party with their children. Make plans now to attend this fun family event.
Other events on tap at the Rec Center include a Youth Dance on Friday, Nov. 4, for grades 6-9 from 7-10 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building. The cost is $5 per student. Music will be provided by Jake Ball and the rule of “once you are in, you stay in/no re-entry” to the dance will be enforced.
A Red Cross babysitter’s training will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Gentle Memorial Building. This training is open to youth between the ages of 11-15 years of age.
This training is limited to 12 students and costs $50. This is a great opportunity to learn skills, knowledge and to gain the confidence to take care of infants and toddlers. Participants are asked to bring a lunch and drink on the day of the training.
