HOULTON, Maine — Democratic Senate candidate Mike Carpenter of Houlton has received the endorsement of the Professional Fire Fighters of Maine (PFFM) for his support of firefighters and EMTs throughout the state.
“I am proud to receive the support of firefighters and EMTs in Aroostook County and throughout Maine,” said Carpenter. “They deserve recognition for putting themselves in harm’s way in difficult circumstances.”
The PFFM is an affiliate of the Maine AFL-CIO. The jurisdiction of the PFFM includes union members engaged in fire prevention, fire fighting, EMS services and other emergency related services of a fire department in the state of Maine.
“Mike Carpenter has supported the issues that are key to the health and safety of Maine’s first responders. Mike understands the demands of our job and the importance of having highly trained and capable first responders in our communities,” said John Martell, president of the PFFM.
Carpenter is a former legislator and Maine attorney general. He has a law practice and runs Carriages of Acadia with his daughter Emily. He is a lifelong resident of Aroostook County and lives with his wife, Joanne, in Houlton.
Carpenter is running to represent District 2 in the Maine Senate, which includes central and southern Aroostook County and parts of northern Penobscot County.
