DANFORTH — Sidney Gray, 70, died Nov 5, 2016 at his home in Danforth. He was born Nov 29, 1945 in Easton the son of Maurice and Pearl (Kinney) Gray.
He owned Sids Coffee Shop in Easton, he drove truck and worked construction for Jim then worked for Great Northern until the time of his retirement in 2012. His passion was owning, training, and driving race horses for many years. He also enjoyed gardening and his vegetable stand in the summers, making Christmas wreaths and playing guitar at church. He was a member of the Brookton Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Webb) Gray of Danforth; five children, Linwood and Sara Gray of Easton, Janet (Gray) and Dale Purton of Calais, Jason Gray and Stacy Jones of Hodgdon, Tina (Gray) and Jon Bouchard of Hampden and Lynette Gray of Bangor; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his faithful companion, Chelsea; a sister, Mavis Wood; a brother, Benjamin Gray; brothers-in -law, Edward Couturier, Gary Davis, George and Robert Webb and Virgil Wood; sisters-in-law, Beverly and Joanne Gray, Susan Good; a favorite niece, Corinne “Cricket” Mooers; several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brothers, Cecil, James and Paul; sisters Rachel Couturier and Diana Davis.
Friends called from 2-5 p.m., Tue., November 8, 2016 at Sidney and Linda’s Home, 1253 Calais Road, Danforth and from 1-2, Wednesday at the Danforth Pentecostal Church where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., with the Rev.
