HOULTON, Maine — Auditions for “Jungle Book,” this year’s spring production of Houlton Star Bright Children’s Theatre, will be held Thursday, Dec. 8, from 2:45-5 p.m., at First Baptist Church on Court Street, Houlton.
The play, directed by Erin Kafferlin, is open to children grades three through six. Rehearsals will begin in January, and are tentatively planned for Wednesdays and Thursdays, 3-4:30 p.m., at First Baptist Church.
Performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 7 and 8, 2017, at the Houlton Community Arts Center, Houlton Middle/High School.
“Jungle Book” is a comic adventure adapted from the “Mowgli” stories of Rudyard Kipling. It tells of a boy raised by wolves in the jungle, learning the jungle’s ways and encountering its creatures as he gains his own strength and courage.
Audition forms will be available at area schools by Dec. 5, for those who are able to fill them out in advance, and also at the audition time at the church.
