16th annual project will benefit Houlton Regional

HOULTON — The Health Services Foundation has announced the beginning of its 16th annual Diamond Raffle to raise money for several major projects at Houlton Regional Hospital.

“This fundraiser has been so successful in assisting the Foundation with its ability to bring so much to our area in support of local health care,” said Elizabeth Dulin, executive director of the Health Services Foundation. “We are also delighted with the fact that we still have Walter Goodrich very much involved the amazing jewelry selections.”

Goodrich has supplied jewelry for the Foundation, despite having closed his jewelry business in Houlton and moved away.

“What a wonderful event this has been through the years and everyone who has ever participated is a winner in our eyes in that the support of better health care for our area can only be achieved by our amazing donors, and they are always there for us,” Dulin said. “Each year we say, what a great stocking stuffer gift this is and that someone’s stocking just may hold that winning ticket.”

The selections for 2017 are: first prize, two stone bypass diamond ring, 14kt rose gold 1 CTW, valued at $5,000; second prize, 14kt white gold three-stone diamond earrings; third prize, sterling silver 14kt gold fiddlehead pendant designed by Cross Jewelers of Portland.

“With such a beautiful fundraiser being held each year, we hope everyone will want to buy a raffle ticket so we may continue to assist our health care providers with the very best in equipment/services they can offer,” said Dulin.

The Foundation is conducting a three-phase $350,000 campaign to provide overall support of 24 pieces of equipment over 12 hospital departments. Proceeds from this event will assist Phase II of the campaign and provide the Emergency Room, Operating Room, Cardiac Rehab, Obstetrics/Delivery, Physical/Occupational Therapy and Ambulatory Surgery with their current needs.

Tickets are $20 each and may be purchased at the Foundation office, first floor of Houlton Regional Hospital, credit card by calling 207-521-2503, or by check to Health Services Foundation, PO Box 1231, Houlton, ME, 04730.
