CALAIS — Thomas J. McClure 52, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 5, 1964 in Calais, the son of Carolyn McClure.
Tom grew up in Calais and attended local schools. He graduated from Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute with a certificate in plumbing. Tom married Robin Nelson in 1982 and together they raised two children. Tom worked for 14 years on the pipeline with Sheehan Pipeline and was a member of Union Local #517. During this time, Tom traveled a lot with his work. He had the opportunity to take his family with him and together they saw a lot of the United States. Tom loved fishing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter. He enjoyed playing games and spending time with his grandchildren. Tom loved to play softball. He was a role model with a big heart. He was precise in details and loved his job.
Tom is survived by his wife Robin (Nelson) McClure of Calais; two children Justin McClure of Calais, Miranda McClure of Houlton; four grandchildren Elijah McClure, Gabriella McClure, Xavier McClure and Jace Roussell; in-laws Forrest and Joanne (McGuire) Howe; brother-in-law Butch Nelson and his wife Christa; sister-in-law Holly Howell and her husband Eric; good friend Jake Chambers and many other friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents Jim and Alice McClure with whom Tom sent a lot of his childhood, his mother Carolyn McClure.
