DECKER, Rev. Robert C. Sr., 97, Meredith, NH. Nov. 28, 2016. A memorial service will take place in late spring or early summer for family members.
Rev. Robert C. Decker, Sr., died on Nov. 28, 2016 at Golden View Health Care Center, Meredith, NH, where he died in his sleep.
He now resides with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he served from his early teens till his death.
He was born in Milo on Oct. 29, 1919 & graduated from Milo High School & went on to graduate from Providence Bible Institute, Providence, RI, later to be called Barrington Bible College & finally graduating from Gordon College in Boston, MA.
He served on the mayor’s commission on Mental Health in Chicopee, MA & was a delegate to Israel for the Israel government. After retiring from Wellesley Baptist Church in Wellesley, MA in 1985, with his wife Dortohy who died in 1989, he joined Interim Ministries American Baptist Church of Valley Forge, PA, a program dedicated to “Continual improvement & support of all interim ministries of the ABC, USA,” & continued to serve eight churches throughout New England & New York with his wife Jean.
In addition to his wife Jean Barbour Decker, he is survived by three sons and a daughter, Robert C. Jr. & family, Rumney, NH, Kevin J. & family, Manchester, NH, David N. of Jerusalem, Israel & family, Deborah D. Wright & family, Winston-Salem, NC, Timothy J. Pre-deceased his father & Tim’s family of Manchester, NH.
Other members of the family include three sons: Russell Barbour & family, Natick, MA, David Barbour & family, N. Attleboro, MA, Robert Barbour & family, Oxford, MA; twenty grandchildren & 25 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place in late spring or early summer, for family members.
