WASHBURN — Edwyna M. Mills, 87, passed away December 24, 2016, at her Washburn residence. She was born in Caribou, December 27, 1929, the daughter of the late Edgar and Cora (Jackins) Stitham.
Edwyna was a graduate of Houlton High School and received her degree in nursing from NMVTI. She worked at the Presque Isle nursing home for a number of years, retiring in 1986, then worked with her husband, Lendall, on the family farm until their retirement. Mrs. Mills was predeceased by her husband, Lendall Mills, in 2007.
She is survived by three sons, Teddie Bither of Linneus, Andy Bither of Buxton and Ed Bither of Washburn; three daughters, Trudy Bither of Topsham, Peggy Longstaff of Linneus; and Jayne Clark of Houlton; one brother, Philip Gerow of Scarborough; a special friend and caregiver, Melissa St. Peter; 12 grandchildren;11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in the spring in the Evergreen Cemetery, Caribou, at a date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou. www.mocklerfuneralhome.com.
