McCLUSKEY-ICENHOUR, Linda C., 76, Chase City, VA, Dec. 19, 2016. Services will be held at the Wood Funeral Chapel on Wed., Dec. 28, at 11 a.m.
Linda Claire McCluskey Icenhour, age 76, of Chase City, died December 19, 2016. Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Leroy Icenhour and was the daughter of the late Harold and Dorothy McCluskey.
Linda was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute and finished 2 years at Ricker College in Houlton, Maine. She lived and worked in Hartford, Connecticut for a short time. Linda was retired from the Virginia State Department of Corrections and was a current employee of Butler Memorial Library for 30 plus years. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the South Boston Branch. Linda was an avid reader, excelled at crochet, and made a home for any stray that needed shelter. She would always stick up for the underdog.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Terry, and Jud McCluskey, as well as a half brother and sister, Bill McCluskey and Noreen McCluskey Holtman. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Schwebke and husband Chip, sons, Eric Brinkerhoff, Evan Brinkerhoff and wife Romina, Jay Icenhour and wife Mikki, sister, Sally McCluskey Gravelle and husband Nick, grandchildren, Zack, Adam, and Logan Schwebke, Kaeman, Colin, and Jackson Icenhour, Alex Griles, Maren and Zebulon Brinkerhoff.
Services will be held at Wood Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 28, at 11 am. Interment will be private. Wood Funeral Service is serving the family.
