The Houlton Police Department reminds Houlton citizens, and those who park in Houlton, that the all-night parking ban went into effect Nov. 1 and will remain in effect until March 31 for all streets in Houlton.

The General Ordinance of the Town of Houlton (Section 14-520) reads, “No person shall park a vehicle on any street in Houlton during the period beginning Nov. 1, and ending March 31.”

The HPD will strongly enforce the parking ban between the hours of 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. The ordinance is in effect to allow the town’s public works to remove snow. Vehicles in violation will be ticketed. Those vehicles that hinder snow removal will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The Houlton Police Department urges all citizens to comply with the ordinance, and appreciates your cooperation.
