Two University of Maine at Presque Isle basketball players earned Sunrise Conference honors for the week ending Sunday.
The Player of the Week was sophomore guard Megan Korhonen, who averaged 14.5 points, four rebounds, three assists and one steal while shooting 54 percent from the field in a 1-1 week for the Lady Owls.
Korhonen had 16 points and six rebounds in a 70-39 loss to Colby College and then had 13 points and four assists in a 70-67 win over Thomas College. In that contest, she scored the final four points of the game, including the game-winning basket.
The Rookie of the Week went to Emily Moore, a freshman guard who averaged 10 points in the two contests. The freshman guard scored nine points against Colby and then had 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals in the victory over Thomas.
